Bind's explosive debut win
People tend to notice a horse when it wins its debut by open lengths. They especially notice it when the winning time is under 1:10 at Fair Grounds. After Bind stopped the timer in 1:08.80, I almost immediately began wondering if that was the fastest six-furlong time by a debuting 3yo in the long history of Fair Grounds. I believe it is. The 1:09.80 run by Neil Howard's Tantivy in G in 1992 and by Neil Drysdale's Muhtafal in 1995 both come to mind when I think of fast 3yo debuts at Fair Grounds, but obviously their performances pale in comparison to what Bind did.
